Coach/Owner - Chicago Cougars, Coach - Indianapolis Racers

With the Chicago Cougars in financial trouble in the 1974-1975 season, Pat Stapleton joined teammates Dave Dryden and Ralph Backstrom in purchasing the club and keeping it in operation through that season. After the end of his distinguished playing career, Stapleton assumed the coaching reins of the Indianapolis Racers and remained behind the Racers' bench until the team folded in December 1978.
