Scott Surgent’s Complete Statistical Guide To The World Hockey Association is the definitive resource on the history of the league.

In addition, the late Tim Gassen produced four books on the WHA. 1972-1979 WHA Media Guides contains every league media guide, WHA Gameday is an extensive collection of articles from WHA game programs, The World Hockey Association Hall of Fame: A Photographic History of the Rebel League, 1972-1979 shows a pictorial look back at the WHA and Positive Waves is a history of his beloved Indianapolis Racers. Former WHA president and New England Whalers owner Howard Baldwin has a book of his own called Slim and None, which details his experiences through the WHA’s formative years.

Tim also had a YouTube channel in which he promoted his WHA video productions. Some of these productions are still available through Amazon.
