Ken Baird left the California Golden Seals of the NHL to join the Alberta Oilers for the 1972-1973 season. The gritty defender was a regular for the Oilers for the next four years only to be released in October 1976. He later signed with the Calgary Cowboys, where he played briefly.
Baird was released by the Oilers once again early in the 1977-1978 season and was signed by the Winnipeg Jets, where he played a valuable supporting role in helping the Jets to their second AVCO Cup championship.
Following the 1977-1978 season, Baird finished his career with three seasons in Germany. |
