After two seasons in the Detroit Red Wings' organization, Robert “Bob” Guindon signed with the Quebec Nordiques in the summer of 1972.
The gritty winger was a regular for the Nordiques for three seasons and helped lead them to the AVCO Cup final in 1975, playing in all 15 of the Nordiques' post-season games.
Following the 1975-1976 season, Guindon had a successful tryout with the Winnipeg Jets, only to be released on account of budgetary considerations. Later that season, however, the Jets brought Guindon back and he helped the Jets to their first AVCO Cup championship.
Guindon made the team once again the following year and played for the Jets for three more WHA seasons. He was part of two more AVCO Cup championship teams and was named the most valuable player of the 1978 playoffs.
Guindon remained in the Jets' organization for two seasons following their entry into the NHL and played in six NHL games before retiring. |
