Curt Larsson became the fourth Swede to sign with the Jets during the summer of 1974, choosing the Jets over the NHL's California Golden Seals. Coming off an All-Star season in the Swedish First Division with Sodertajle SK, Larsson spent most of his three seasons in a Jets' uniform in a backup role, where he posted a 30-30-2 record over the course of 68 regular season games.
With Joe Daley serving a suspension, Larsson came off the bench and made 27 saves in leading the Jets to a 3-2 victory over the Oilers in Edmonton in Game 3 of the 1976 Canadian Division semi-final. The Jets went on to sweep the series and capture their first AVCO Cup championship.
Larsson returned to Sweden following the 1976-1977 season and played two more seasons in Sodertalje. |
