In the summer of 1975, the Winnipeg Jets signed veteran winger Bill Lesuk, who had been with the NHL's Washington Capitals.
Lesuk came with a reputation for being a hard worker and excellent checker and masterfully lived up to his advance billing in four WHA seasons with the Jets. He was an integral part of all three Jets' AVCO Cup championship teams whose contributions were not always measurable on the score sheet.
Lesuk remained with the Jets for one season following their entry into the NHL before retiring as a player. He went on to work for the Jets for many years as a scout and continued scouting for them even after the franchise's relocation to Arizona. |
