Willy “The Wisp” Lindstrom

After turning them down during the summer of 1974, Willy Lindstrom finally put his signature on a Winnipeg Jets' contract. The former truck driver and mechanic in the Swedish Army spent four WHA seasons with the Jets, scoring a career-high 44 goals in 1976-1977. Lindstrom was an important part of all three Jets' AVCO Cup championship teams and he was the Jets' leading goal scorer during the 1979 playoffs.

Lindstrom remained with the Jets following their entry into the NHL until he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers late in the 1982-1983 season. He last saw NHL action in the 1986-1987 season before returning to Sweden to finish his career.

Lindstrom was a WHA All-Star in 1977 and was one of the most popular players in Jets' history.
