Paul MacKinnon signed with the Winnipeg Jets in the summer of 1978, choosing the Jets over the NHL's Washington Capitals, who had selected him in the second round of the 1978 Amateur Draft. The stay-at-home defenseman was a regular on the Jets' blue line in 1978-1979 as the Jets captured the last AVCO Cup championship.
MacKinnon's stay in Winnipeg lasted only one season as the Capitals reclaimed his NHL rights following the merger of the two leagues. He went on to play five seasons in the Capitals' organization before retiring following the 1983-1984 season. |
