Kelly Pratt was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the third round of the 1973 WHA Amateur Draft and signed with the Jets instead of accepting an offer of an invitation to training camp with the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins.
Pratt spent his only season in a Jets' uniform split between Winnipeg and Jacksonville of the AHL. As a Jet, he added a physical presence and a youthful exuberance that was in short supply on a roster of mostly veteran players.
Pratt signed with the Penguins following the 1973-1974 season and played in 22 games for the Penguins in 1974-1975. He spent the remainder of his career in the minor leagues. |
