Scott Campbell

Gary Scott Campbell
Defense
Born June 22, 1957 in Toronto, Ontario
Died September 3, 2022
Height: 6' 2" Weight: 207 lbs.

Scott Campbell was a first-round selection of the St. Louis Blues in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft, but he chose to sign with the Houston Aeros instead.

The imposing defenseman provided a physical presence on the Aeros' blue line in their final season before the Winnipeg Jets purchased his contract from the defunct Aeros in the summer of 1978.

Campbell joined many of his former Aeros teammates on the revamped Jets roster that eventually came together and won the AVCO Cup in 1978-1979.

Campbell was one of two skaters the Jets protected going into the NHL and he succeeded Lars-Erik Sjoberg as captain in 1980-1981. Injuries brought a premature end to his promising career and he retired after the 1981-1982 season.
