Born August 17, 1943 in Vita, Manitoba
Height: 6' 2" Weight: 200 lbs.

Freeman “Duke” Asmundson made the Winnipeg Jets out of training camp in 1972-1973 and was a valuable role player for the next four seasons. After a broken leg in January brought a premature end to his 1974-1975 season, he recovered and played a full season with the Jets in 1975-1976. Despite suffering a shoulder separation, he was on the bench with his teammates as the Jets captured their first AVCO Cup championship. Asmundson was one of five original Jets on the championship roster and retired following that season.
